ALASKA 2021

We enjoyed exploring around our home waters near Juneau. Adventures included a May trip around Icy Straits and into Glacier Bay with our son Scott – a magical experience where we nearly had the bays to ourselves due to being early in the season and no large cruise boats due to Covid. John and Kristy then took the boat south from Juneau visiting many lovely anchorages circumnavigating Admiralty Island and the east side of Baranof Island.

A stunning day on Admiralty Island

Raynad now sits for the winter in Slatter Harbor at Auke Bay in Juneau, Alaska. For the past 12 years, she’s been a wonderful home for us as well as a safe mode of transport which has allowed us to explore the most amazing unique places of the Pacific Oceans. Raynad carries enough fuel, water, food and other provisions to allow us to linger in isolated or remote areas of the world for months at a time.

We’re now transitioned to a land based home in Juneau, Alaska. This boat is best as a full time cruiser. She thrives on those long ocean passages and lingering days in beautiful remote bays or atolls. It’s time for us to let her be adopted by another couple looking for some adventure on the oceans. S/V Raynad is FOR SALE. There is no better or safer boat than SV Raynad, nor one that I’d have rather spent this precious time on. SV Raynad will always hold a very special place in our hearts and memories.

ALASKA 2020

Covid-19 isolation in one of the most beautiful places in the world! We were fortunate to have a home north of town and access to lots of trails, waterways and eventually flights on Alaska Airlines!
